Exciting news! 📣 Today was the official ribbon-cutting for the new Transit Center on @virginia.tech’s campus! The Transit Center, which was a collaborative effort between Blacksburg Transit (@ridebt), Virginia Tech, and the Town of Blacksburg, provides a central hub for alternate transportation, including Blacksburg Transit, Smart Way, and Virginia Breeze buses as well as bike travel with the Hokie Bike Hub. The facility also provides a heated and air-conditioned indoor waiting area for travelers and meeting space for employees. Come check it out! 🚍🚏🚴♀️

Christiansburg Industrial Institute, which was open from 1866-1966, was the first high school for African American students in Southwest Virginia. Today, its legacy is preserved and shared by @cburginstitute. You can visit the monument pictured here and see the last remaining building from the campus on Scattergood Drive in Christiansburg, and visit Christiansburg Institute Inc`s museum at 125 Arrowhead Trail in Christiansburg to learn more about this historic school. 📚️🎓️

The Huckleberry Trail is a 15-mile paved trail that connects the towns of Christiansburg and Blacksburg, and is a perfect place for biking, running, or just enjoying a leisurely stroll in nature. The trail offers mile markers, a water station, and varying landscapes to explore.
